The Beer Store (TBS) has implemented an effective deposit return system that has significantly contributed to environmental sustainability by collecting over 75 billion containers since its inception in 1927. This system, funded by brewers and consumers, promotes a circular economy by ensuring that containers are reused or recycled, resulting in a high recovery rate of 87% for beer containers. The initiative has led to substantial greenhouse gas reductions, with over 200,000 tonnes of avoided emissions annually, showcasing TBS's commitment to environmental leadership in the brewing industry.
