Hey gang, I just replaced the spindle pack on my Goose last week, and I am having a heck of a time getting my seams dialed back in. I touched off the roller height in accordance with manual and worked my way through adjusting op1 before moving on to op2. The problem is my seam height on op 2 is just barely within tolerance, right at the bottom edge, and that terrifies me. Every other measurement is right in spec with the exception of countersink depth. I would have thought with a low end seam height I would have a deeper countersink depth, but the opposite seems to be the case here with a lower end countersink depth in addition to a lower op 2 seam height.
I can't adjust my cam follower any tighter on op 2 or I end up rubbing on the chuck (and my seam thickness is on target anyway), and adjusting the roller height doesn't seem to have a noticeable effect on the seam height. Goose told me not to worry about the countersink depth too much, and I get that it's not the most important thing, but prior to needing to replace this spindle pack we had consistent and on target seam measurements across the board. So it's worrisome to me that I can't get it dialed in.
I think I've probably spent the better part of a day at this point going back and forth with adjustments and really not getting anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong, or what I am not thinking to check on? Thanks in advance for any help/advice/suggestions, etc.
