We have a Roper Xeric Type 2 spent grain pump and have purchased a new stator, but are having issues getting the stator/auger pulled out from the motor shaft/gearbox.
We have followed the procedure from Roper, but no luck.
Our local Roper rep does not do service calls and says we would have to remove the complete assembly and ship to them for service, which is not realistic.
Basically, the Stator is attached to the auger shaft via a pin which is approx 4 inches inside the auger housing. We have removed the collar and pin that connects the motor shaft to the auger shaft in the gearbox universal joint.
We've attached a strap/come-a-long to the end of the stator and need to pull the stator/auger out together approx 4-6 inches so we can access the pin that connects these two shafts, then we can plug in the new stator and hopefully shove it all back together.
Anyone have any experience working with these pumps that can give us some pointers?
I have a power point from Roper that describes what we're dealing with if needed.
