Dear Fellow Brewers,
It is with profound sadness that I report the passing of my good friend and mentor Professor Ludwig Narziss. His impact on modern Malting and Brewing Technology could never be overstated. As
Chair of Brewing Technology 1 at the Technical University of Munich in Weihenstephan, he educated many generations of brewers. Brewers that went on to lead breweries all over the world. He was loved by all of his students and will be remembered for his knowledge, generosity, passion as well as a love for well made Pils. His research guided malting and brewing technology into the 21st Century. For example, if you brew with Strain 34/70 you can thank The Professor as he selected that strain. Ludwig will be missed.
