Opening Remarks and Past Minutes Approval
- Meeting was called to order at 6:39 PM
- Bob thanked everyone for coming and extended gratitude to Micah and Shane for their presentations.
- Minutes from the previous meeting, held two weeks prior at Wellspent, were sent out by Kris Scholl electronically and were approved without objections or questions.
Financial Update
- Tom Zimmerman provided a financial report:
- Checking Account: ~$2500
- Savings Account: ~$500
- Money Market: ~$42,055
- Total: $45,030.86
Recognition and Updates
- District Great Plains won the membership drive for September, earning $500 for a guest presenter at their next meeting.
- The new National President and Exec Board were congratulated.
- Thanks were extended to presenters Micah McCauley and Shane McNamara.
- Upcoming meeting: A Monday night, November 13th, at Alpha Brewing (address: 4310 Fyler Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116).

- Welcoming of new members and guests
Scholarship Reminders
- A reminder and encouragement to apply for scholarships were voiced.
- Available scholarships mentioned: John Mallett Scholarship, Master Brewers National, STL District and others.
- Additional clarifications and questions about scholarship funds and allocation were discussed by David Ammons and others.
District Leadership Nominations and Voting
- Nick Erickson discussed nominations and presented the slate for district St. Louis leadership.
- Voting occurred for the positions of President, Vice President, BOG Rep, and Treasurer, with Florian Kuplent, Kris Scholl, Bob Griesedieck, and Nick Erickson (respectively) nominated.
- Bob Griesedieck becomes Past President
- Bill McFarland will become Technical Chair
- Additional committee chairs and roles were discussed and are being filled.
- Motion was made to approve the Slate of Officers as nominated. Motion made by Darren Goodlin, Seconded by Rob Naylor. Motion passed without objections.
Award Recognition
- Darren Goodwin was recognized and honored with the 2023 recipient of the National Award of Honor, followed by a few inspiring words from Darren.
Closing & New Business
- Thanks were extended to AB BioTek for hosting and to sponsors.
- Swag was available for attendees.
- David Ammons had further questions and discussions regarding the scholarship process and recommended using the scholarship funds to sponsor members to attend national conferences.
Actions and Follow-Ups
- Registration for the next meeting will be up in the coming days.
- More information on future social events to come.
- Continued work on filling committee chairs and roles.
- Distribute meeting minutes and notify of upcoming events.
- Ensure all scholarship options are communicated to the membership.
