Greetings All,
Your Board of Governors recently held their second meeting of the year on May 18th. The treasurer's report was again positive given the current state of economic affairs here. Membership numbers continue to rebound and most areas of the budget are good or at least better than expected. I continue to mention membership numbers because they are the foundation of our organization's financial health, and again I remind you to encourage your colleagues and team members to join us. The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for 2022-2023 and I have attached it to this message for you to review and provide feedback. Please note that the upcoming President of our organization is District Illinois' own Doug Wilson, so be sure to pass along your congratulations if you see or get to talk to him. The BOG will vote to approve the slate at our next meeting in October. Also from the nominating committee, the Honorary Lifetime Membership of Charlie Bamforth was unanimously approved and a call was issued for two volunteers to serve on the committee. These are four-year terms that begin this fall and are a great way to get involved in your organization. Please reach out to me directly if you are interested.
After over a year of work and discussion, the District Health Task Force presented their recommendations which are also attached. I encourage you to review them because once approved, the Task Force recommendations will result in changes to our bylaws and will be implemented across all districts. Particularly, the task force makes recommendations around required officers and sets term limits, makes significant changes to voting and elections, and defines the role of the BOG Representative. If you have questions, concerns, or want to give your input, both Doug Wilson and I serve on the task force so please reach out to either one of us.
