I recently replaced the seal on one of my LYSF Centrifugal pumps model SFB5-AA and it still has just an ever so slight leak that I can only attribute to getting the spring tension setting slightly off on the seal. 

When I get it on snug but not too tight the impeller either grinds or ceases up, and then when I loosen the spring even just 1 or 2 mm it causes a slow drip.

Has anyone else worked with these pumps before? I have experience with other types of centrifugal pumps before with no issue but my trouble shooting skills have been exhausted for this model pump. Currently waiting to get access to the owner's manual from LYSF, it was unavailable on their website and other places online I looked.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Positive vibes my friends!

I'm sure you checked, but was/is there wear on the seal surface? I just had to replace a backplate on an Ampco centrifugal pump that had worn so bad a new carbon mechanical wouldn't seal properly.
