    Hey there,

We have had quite a lot of issues dialing in a mid-nineties counter-pressure, rotary can filler and figuring out where the main source of our D.O. pickup is.  I remember in brewing school, the older, legacy can fillers were considered to be a workable option for a craft brewery because they were likely very well maintained at the large breweries where they were used for years.  That said, I know technology has improved greatly and was curious if anyone had worked at a larger plant on older can fillers and could provide some guidance as to problem spots for D.O. pickup.  We've isolated the filler specifically as our issue and short of re-building the center column, we have hit a bit of a wall even while troubleshooting with the manufacturer.  Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Anonymous,

I have 25+ years of experience working on can fillers, I worked for 2 of the larger equipment manufacturers prior to starting Craft Brewery Solutions and would be happy to spend some time on the phone discussing what you are seeing and steps you have already taken trying to resolve your DO issues.

Please send an email and we can setup a time for a call.

    Cheers,

I assume this is a new issue and hasn't been consistent since you started the machine.  On older counter pressures I messed with, it was usually bad poppets on the vacuum evac circuit, or fob issues between fill and seaming/crowning.  I also found I like positive displacements pumps better than diaphragm or impeller.
