    Kernza® is a perennial grain that grows year-round and has deep roots that improve soil and water quality by storing carbon and preventing erosion and runoff. Brewers across the country love Kernza® for its nutty and warm flavor profile.
    We invite you to join us at the UC Davis Brewing Lab for two exciting events:
    • Kernza® Brew Day Sept 30, 10am-4pm
    • Kernza® Beer Tasting Day Oct 21, 10am-2pm
    Gain hands-on brewing experience with Kernza®, and connect with fellow California brewers while exploring its unique potential in brewing. 
    Attend one or both events to learn, brew, taste, and collaborate. Registration is required. Space is limited. After registration, you will receive a notification confirming your spot in either or both events.
    Kernza® Brew Day: Tuesday, September 30th, 10am-4pm
    Join a select group of brewers for a hands-on Kernza® Brew Day, featuring the use of newly-released Kernza® malt. This collaborative brewing experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the flavor potential of Kernza®.
    Under the guidance of Dr. Glen Fox, Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences, and with the experienced UC Davis brewing staff, Joe Williams and Dr. Jordan Beaver, participants will brew ales using varying percentages of Kernza® malt to compare taste, aroma, and flavor profiles. This is a chance for seasoned brewers to experiment and learn in a small-group setting.
    Kernza® Brew Day also includes a hybrid Kernza® info session and Q&A, featuring researchers and brewers who will share insights on the role of Kernza® in regenerative agriculture and its application in brewing.
    Complimentary lunch provided. Spots are limited to 12 brewers-register early to be part of this innovative brewing experience. After registration, you will receive a notification confirming your spot in either or both events.
    Kernza® Beer Tasting Day: Tuesday, October 21st, 10am-2pm
    Join us for Kernza® Beer Tasting Day to experience how malted Kernza® shapes the sensory profile of beer. Participants will take part in a guided sensory tasting and evaluation of the ales brewed with varying percentages of Kernza® malt at the Brew Day, exploring differences in flavor, appearance, aroma, and mouthfeel.
    The event also features presentations and a Q&A session with guest speakers who will share insights into Kernza® sourcing and supply chain logistics.
    Complimentary lunch is provided. Spots are limited to 20 brewers-register early to participate. After registration, you will receive a notification confirming your spot in either or both events.
    Space is limited. Please note: only register one representative per brewery. After registration, you will receive notification confirming your spot in either or both events. You will be notified after registration if you are on the wait list for either event.
