Does anyone have microscopic images of precipitated foam proteins they are willing to share?

    Hi Jeff,

Siebel has a really good book on Beer Deposits, with a lot of good pictures.  It's cheap.....only $40.  I know as fact the book has collapsed foam protein pictures for you to look at.  With info on how stain proteins for better detection under the microscope as well.  I had a copy, but it was so good, somebody else in the brewery must felt that they needed a copy too!

    Here's the link: https://shop.siebelinstitute.com/beer-deposits-pictorial-atlas

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Ken

Jeffrey, I would recommend contacting Siebel's for a small handbook they may still have for sale.   It is "Beer Deposits – a laboratory guide and pictorial atlas."  It was put together in 1975 by Siebel instructor  Dr. Paul Glenister.  It has 125 photomicrographs of various things you might see in your beer when you examine it under a microscope.  Lots of them are of flakes and skins and other protein deposits.
