Brewery Tours (kicking off at 3:15PM, 3:45PM & 4:15PM), along with a Social Hour (Enjoy a few beers & conversation)
*NOTE* Yuengling will offer district members tours of their Mill Creek Brewery beginning at the times listed above. If you would like to visit the original brewery, please plan to tour prior to the meeting. The original brewery offers tours to the public Monday - Saturday 10AM to 3PM on the hour.
5PM to 6:30PM:

Bio:
Dan Weber grew up in Iowa and has a BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa. After school he started in the chemical world with Buckman Laboratories before changing careers and moving into Brewing in 2010. He started his brewing career at Millstream Brewery in Iowa and then attended UC-Davis Master Brewer’s program before moving to Delaware and starting at Dogfish Head. Since then in 13 years at Dogfish Head he has had roles of Brewer, Brewing Supervisor, Innovation Brewer in R&D, and currently Assistant Brewing Manager since 2020. He has presented at the MBAA National Conference, the Iowa Brewer’s Guild, and at the UC-Davis and he currently serves on the Brewer’s Association Technical Committee and the CBC Selection Committee. In his free time you’re likely to find him out on the golf course.
“Scaling up and Optimizing a Recipe”:
There are a lot of aspects of a brewing recipe that are often overlooked by Brewers of all different skill levels. In this talk we’ll cover the in depth calculations and aspects to formulating and scaling up recipes, from brewing salts and nutrients to fermentability, lautering efficiency, and BU’s. We’ll hit a little bit of everything in this hour crash course in recipe building.
