Hi all,
I won't be able to make this week's meeting at Molson Coors, so here are my takeaways from today's Board of Governors meeting:
-The MBAA has brought in less revenue for the year (as of 7/31) than budgeted, but has also spent less money than expected. Overall, the organization is very healthy financially.
-The low revenue is primarily due to membership (and therefore dues) continuing to decline over the last two years, so it's not just a covid thing any more. We're currently at 3,585 members globally, down from a peak of 5,031 in 2019.
-Membership dues for 2025 (not including individual district dues) will be $160 for professionals, $47 for students, $21 for retirees, and nuthin' for honorary life members.
-The slate of Executive Committee officers proposed back in May have been approved:
President = Molly Browning
1st Vice President = Brian Faivre
2nd Vice President = Steve Bradt
Past President = Lauren Torres
Treasurer = Marcus Powers
Treasurer-elect = Ben Bailey
-The Member Get A Member campaign is still in full effect. When joining the MBAA, new members should enter the promo code NewBrew24 and list you as a referring member. For each new member you refer, you'll receive 20% off your membership dues. Yes, you can get a free membership this way.
-The organization is looking for volunteers to serve on various committees and working groups. See https://www.mbaa.com/membership/Pages/Volunteer.aspx for more info.
If you have any questions or concerns, let me know!
