    Lindsay Barr of DraughtLab will be presenting "Oops, I built a Sensory Program"

    Lindsay is the Founding Partner and CSO of DraughtLab and Adjunct Sensory Professor for the UC Davis Master Brewers Program. She has 15 years of experience building sensory training programs and has worked with hundreds of food and beverage companies to implement their own. With DraughtLab she has published multiple industry-standard lexicons like the Beer Flavor MapTM and has made Sensory science accessible for companies of all sizes and levels of expertise. Along with her daily work, she is involved in the brewing industry as an international beer judge, instructor for the Siebel Institute, and author of seven ASBC Sensory evaluation methods. She believes flavor is the most important factor in determining food and beverage quality and has set her sights on continuing to develop tools focused on helping businesses use their senses to inform everyday production decisions.

    Mario Gonzalez of MCG Boilers will be presenting "Boiler Selection and Maintenance for a Brewer"

    Mario Gonzalez is the owner of MCG Boilers, Inc.; his father got he and his siblings into the steam industry in the late 70's. He has worked with steam systems in numerous industries, including food and beverage, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. Through technical libraries and community colleges such as LA trade tech, ELAC, and Mount SAC, Mario continued to seek out knowledge of steam manufacturing processes. At age 19 he designed his first steam equipment floor plan for Macy's department stores at their centralized alterations department in Mission Rd., Lincoln Heights, CA. After working for a few boiler companies, he started MCG Boilers in 2002, His crews specialize in boiler room construction startups, boiler/burner service, water treatment and preventative programs, and sales or rental of boiler room equipment. 

    Mark Martin of Statco-DSI will be discussing Inline Carbonation. 

    Mark is presently with STATCO-DSI as a Business Development Director in the Service Area, working on developing a Calibration Program to offer their customers, as well as working with some Key Accounts and larger mechanical projects. He has been in the Brewing Industry since 2003 in the Maintenance Field with responsibilities that included Process Improvement, Mechanical Support, Electrical Support, and Instrumentation Support, both as a Brewery employee and as a Field Service Representative. While at Pentair he was responsible for customer training, equipment installation, troubleshooting, installation and maintaining in line and at line equipment. Prior to that Mark spent 13 years at Miller Coors in Eden, NC in various positions that all revolved around the brewing process and equipment associated with the brewing process. And before that he spent 10 years in several different industries all related to the installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment. Mark is an 8 year veteran of the US Army and is married with two grown kids living in South West Virginia.
