It is district election season! The MBAA District Carolinas officer board are elected volunteer positions. The direction of the district is in the hands of our members and we’re excited to see what the next chapter holds.

· We are accepting nominations until December 1st. At which point we will send out an email on how to vote for officers.
· Voting will be open for 2 weeks mid-December.
· ALL POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE. ALL POSITIONS ARE TWO YEAR TERMS. Reach out to any officer if you have any questions.
President Duties:
· Primary contact and leader for issues related to National, District, Governance, and Executive committees. Must have understanding of MBAA bylaws and Roberts rule of order.
· Schedule meeting dates and locations for any in person meetings and dates for virtual meetings.
· Coordinate with staff and BoG representative to hold District Topic Gathering Process within one annual meeting.
· Confirm BoG rep is attending necessary national meetings on behalf of the district.
· Oversee and complete the annual District survey.
· Design next election.

Vice President Duties:
· Scholarship - Organize scholarship program, sponsor selection, mentorship program.
· Develop parameters for scholarship selection & committee.
· Membership -Responsible for new member and current member retention strategies, monthly welcome emails, and outreach.
· Serve as resource in sub-committee formation.
· Attend monthly national virtual happy hour/training sessions.
Outgoing Vice President: None
Treasurer Duties:
· Report the District's financial transactions and status.
· Present the MBAA’s financial reports to District Officers and membership at least annually.
· Receive and review quarterly financial statements from the MBAA and follow up with staff as necessary.
· Ensure the District obtains and maintains the required insurance coverages. File annual registration with the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State in order to maintain active nonprofit corporation status
· File necessary tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service as necessitated by the District’s tax-exempt status

Programming/Technical Chair(s) Duties:
· Organize meetings including speakers, conference locations, meals, group lodging, etc.
· Assist other officers, particularly Treasurer, to ensure that follow-through is in approved budget.
· Work with VP to implement social events for membership retention and community building.
· Reach out to industry vendors and garner sponsorships for technical and social meetings.
· Create handouts and slides for conferences that promote vendors that align to the terms of sponsorship tiers.
· With national DEI committee, allow for in-person technical meetings to be attended virtually for those that cannot attend, increasing membership access to educational information.

Secretary/Communications Chair Duties:
· Record meeting minutes, record attendance, provide a high-level summary of the discussions that take place during the meeting document motions passed or denied, and confirm prior meeting’s minutes after review by the District Officers.
· Communicate regularly on the MBAA forums.
· Save and catalogue meeting minutes and actions for future review as necessary. These should be saved in an accessible shared folder for the District, so when officer positions are changed, new officers are able to access prior documents.
· Assist President with logistics of in-person meetings as well as technical assistance, as necessary, with virtual meetings.
· Send to all District Officers and members after each meeting copies of all actions and minutes from such meetings.
· Manage district social media channels and devise of strategies of continued engagement.
