The American Malting Barley Association (AMBA) summarizes barley production estimates released by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Yields are predicted to be down 3.5 bushels per acre from 2018, but increased slightly from the July estimates. Compared to July, expected yields declined in Idaho, North Dakota and Wyoming; and increased in Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, and Washington. Production is still estimated to be about 12% greater than last year.
